An effort is under way to renew and enhance the Chapel of the Resurrection, which for more than half a century has stood as a central symbol of Lutheran character and mission at Valparaiso University.
The Chapel of the Resurrection Fundraising Initiative: Our Future in Faith is an undertaking designed to prepare the chapel for dynamic ministry in the years ahead. According to President Mark A. Heckler Ph.D., the Chapel of the Resurrection stands "as the centerpiece of campus and the heart of worship, service, leadership, and reconciliation for the campus community."

Christ is risen! Join us this Sunday, May 8, the Seventh Sunday in Easter, at 10 a.m. Dr. Fred Niedner preaches and University Pastor James A. Wetzstein presides.
Candlelight Evening Prayer is each Sunday evening at 10 p.m. with University Pastor Charlene M. Rachuy Cox when classes are in session.

The Chapel offers eight different services a week, the most frequent being Morning Prayer, Monday through Friday, 10 to 10:20 a.m. During Finals Week, May 5-10, Morning Prayer is in the Gloria Christi Chapel. The final day of Morning Prayer for the semester is May 10th.

We regret that we are not able to book weddings more than one calendar year in advance. However, you may fill out an application and get on our waiting list. You may also download the application form.
