Approximately 50 students traveled with Professor Heath Carter to Selma, Ala., during spring break. The Huffington Post features the group who made the journey to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the historic civil rights march from Selma to Montgomery.
Freshmen Dani Franklin and Jasmyn Walker led the women's basketball team in Horizon League postseason honors and were named to the All-Freshmen Team. Dani is the league's Freshman of the Year, and Jasmyn earned her place in Valpo's record books for rebounds and double-doubles.
The Social Action Leadership Team's (SALT) 30th annual World Relief Campaign partners with A Leg To Stand On to bring mobility to 400 children in Afghanistan by funding prosthetic limbs, orthotic devices, and other much-needed resources. On May 2, SALT hosts an annual color run, a key fundraiser for their campaign.
