Tobacco-Free Environment

Tobacco-free environmentValparaiso University became a tobacco-free environment July 1, 2008. This means that the use of tobacco products on University property is prohibited except in an enclosed personal vehicle.

The health risks of tobacco products, including the effects of second-hand smoke, are well documented.  Valparaiso University is committed to providing a healthy environment for members of the campus community and their guests, and University policy reflects a concern about these risks.

Members of the University community and campus visitors are asked to abide by this policy as we develop a tobacco-free culture on campus.
