In an age of global interdependence, the opportunity to experience another culture through study abroad is more valuable than ever. Valpo students can spend a summer, a semester or a whole year in another country as participants in study-abroad programs sponsored by Valparaiso University. After consulting with the director of study-abroad programs, students may also choose to participate in programs sponsored by different institutions.

Valpo Study-Abroad Programs

Valpo offers 19 study-abroad programs around the world. In addition, Valpo’s four study centers (Cambridge, England; Reutlingen, Germany; Hangzhou, China; and San José, Costa Rica) provide group trips and excursions, a topics course on the life and culture of the host country, and specialized housing, all under the guidance of an on-site resident director.

Abroad Toward Your Goals

Valpo’s study-abroad programs include options especially tailored for students in engineering and business, as well as curricular options focusing on arts and culture, international relations, politics, global development, and, of course, language skills. Some programs include internships.
