If you are requesting tutoring in a specific undergraduate course, please list the course information below:
Please enter one course per form. A separate request form is required for each course.
Please enter the times you are available for tutoring beside your available days.
You will receive an email from Academic.Success@valpo.edu notifying you that your request is being processed. To speed up the process, please check your email frequently and respond to any questions. The ASC will contact current tutors to determine if one is available and, if necessary, will contact faculty members to obtain recommendations for new tutors. In some cases, your request may be shared with Valpo faculty and staff to assist in matching you with a tutor. If an appropriate tutor is identified, you will receive an email with information to help you contact the tutor and prepare for your first session. Also, you will receive an email if a tutor match cannot be arranged.
Individual tutoring through the ASC is not intended to be a one-time service, but rather a partnership where tutor-tutee pairs meet regularly over the course of a semester for a limited number of hours. Typically, students meet once or twice a week for an hour per session. Tutors assist students in academic achievement by answering questions and reviewing course materials to deepen understanding of the subject. Also, tutors provide examples of their approaches to learning and studying the course content.
If you miss your scheduled tutoring sessions, or are repeatedly late to sessions, your eligibility for tutoring services may be discontinued for the specific course.
