Administrative responsibilities for the academic programs at Valparaiso University reside in the Office of the Provost. Dr. Roy Austensen is provost and vice president for academic affairs and Dr. Renu Juneja is associate provost.  Dr. Austensen has announced plans to retire from his administrative position at the end of the current year and a search is underway to identify his successor.

The provost serves in a position similar to that of a chief operating officer in the corporate setting and functions as the chief executive officer in the absence of the president. In addition to providing leadership for the academic program, the provost has oversight for three vice presidents: administration and finance, university marketing, and student affairs.
