Interested in taking a group of students abroad?

The International Affairs Committee (IAC) welcomes faculty and staff to develop short-term, faculty-led course-work abroad for spring break, summer or other durations.  Faculty and staff should consult with the IAC in the initial planning stages regarding location, cost, health and safety factors to incorporate into your proposal.   Approvals for academic credit will be given by the Office of the Provost.  

Once the trip proposal has been reviewed by the IAC, please submit the following:

What the Office of International Programs can assit you with:

  • Consulations on short-term, faculty-led programs; 
  • Promoting your course at study abroad fairs and information sessions; 
  • Pre-departure orientation for students on health & safety, packing tips, and emergency contact paperwork; 
  • Collection of Waivers and liability forms.

All participants are required to sign the Study Abroad Program Agreement which serves as a waiver and emergency contact form.  Submit the form to the Office of International Programs along with a copy of the traveler's passport prior to departure.

ISIC (International Student Identity Card)

Faculty, staff and students traveling outside the US on a university-affiliated trip, program or course are required to purchase an ISIC, which provides medical emergency assistance and traverler's benefits.  

Request your ISIC now:  https://apps.valpo.edu/travel

Faculty, staff and students are to login using the regular Valpo user ID and login.  Upon submission, the $26.80 payment must be submitted to the Office of International Programs and the card will be issued by the One Card Office located in the CLIRR.
