June FOCUS Schedule

For First-Year Students and Parents/Guardians:

Students and parents experience different schedules during FOCUS, but the start and end time of the program is the same for both groups.  Day 1 begins at 8:15 a.m., featuring Valpo resources, placement exams for students, a spotlight on academics for parents/guardians, information from current Valpo students, and more!

Students stay overnight in a residence hall between Day 1 and Day 2 with activities occurring late into the evening.  Day 2  features additional resource information for parents while students attend academic advising and course registration.  The FOCUS experience ends after lunch on Day 2.

For Transfer Students:

Transfer students complete orientation on Day 1 of each FOCUS session.  Day 1 begins at 8:15 a.m. with Valpo resource information and continues into the afternoon with academic advising and course registration.  Transfer students are generally finished with their FOCUS experience by 4 p.m. on Day 1, though they are welcome to continue to participate in any additional FOCUS activities offered throughout the first day.

The 2013-14 Academic Calendar shows Fall Welcome days (Aug. 24-26) in which all new students are expected to participate.  In addition, it gives all dates for breaks throughout the school year.
