#5

Today is Febrary 26, 2007 and it is the last week until our 2 week Spring Break. I have been pledging Theta Chi and been training for football along with my class's. There is one guy in particular who has been a huge mentor in both and that is Jeffrey Horton. He is a brother at Theta Chi as long with a running back as well. He is a great guy, however, I went to his apartment and noticed he doesn't like doing his dishes.

FRAT

Today is January 30, 2007 and I am thinking about joining a fraternity here on campus. The one I am thinking about putting my bid to is Theta Chi. They have some good guys that live there and most of them play football with myself. On Sunday we had a dinner and it was really delicious. It was beef sandwhich and pasta with salad and dessert. It was very good, and the older brothers introduced themselves. Most of my good friends are thinking about pledging and it will just be a really good time.

Football has also started back again and today we had to wake up at 5 to run at 5:45. It really woke me and introduced me to college football in the off-season. We have been lifting 4 times a week and speed training a few times as well. It has been a great experience and I am happy I continued to play in college.

Back at Valpo

Finals were very tough and I was glad they were over so I could head home to Ohio where it was about 55 everyday. It was nice to finally have a break and visit with my high school friends. But I am sure glad to be back on campus and start football. Sorority life just began last week and they are all excited. Meaning its just about time for Frat Life to begin and Rush is about to start. I have been to a few rush events and it has been very fun and interesting.

FINALS

Its Wednesday December 13, 2006 and I have just finished two of my three finals. I took Pre-Calculus on Monday and took my CORE Tuesday. My third is Friday morning at 8 and I go home right after. I can't wait to go home and see my family. The break is 25 days and it will be a good break from school. Finals week takes a lot out of you and your tired all the time.

We registered for our classes online and it was such an easy process. All it took was the click of the mouse and you could see if the class was full or not. Next semester I will be taking 18 credit hours to finish up the school year with 31 total hours. I plan on taking a class during the summer to finish up my math requirements.

I hope everyone has a happy holiday!

Grades

We just had our Mid-term grades sent to us. I was expecting to do better but a 3.4 isn't bad. School started off difficult, however has gotten much easier. I think it was because I didn't know what to expect from a test or how everything went. My professor's are very nice, and help you out if you need it which is very comforting.

We have 3 more games left which is crazy. The season went by so quickly and it's almost Thanksgiving break. I can't wait to go home and see all my friends from back home. My break will be somewhere around 11 days.

Wednesday the 4th

Today was a very busy day for me, first I had four classes, two of which were double classes. Secondly, I have football from 3-6 and from 11-11:45. And after all my classes, I went to a CORE fifth hour movie, which the director was present. How many times can you ask a director questions about his movie, or just in general. The movie was a fun experience for me.

I'm very excited to be the starting runningback for the crusaders. Not to many freshman know what it is to feel like and I'm very proud and estatic. We play St. Joes this week after our poor effort against Jacksonville on homecoming. I'm just so excited to play on Saturday.

Study Session

Im just in study session for athletes who are required to do it. It's kind of boring since I just finished up my CORE paper. It's two hours long, and for football we have to have 4 hours a week. This helps me out because I don't know how motivated I would be if it wasn't for the session. It is real laid back and is worth it.

1st home game

School and a footall mix makes for a very busy day. Monday and Wednesday are the worst because I have 4 classes and then a 3 hour football class. However, Thursday and Friday I only have one class each day. My first quiz was this week in Spanish. I was expecting it to be much harder, but thank god it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.

Each week goes by very quickly because there is always something to do. We had our 1st home football game this past Saturday, which we lost 20-39 to Trinity International. Our team played very poor and the other team made some good plays.

The food here isn't bad at all. I was expecting it to be much worse then it is. Saturday night I watched The Ohio State University beat the number 2 team in the nation Texas which was awesome and Saturday saw the The Eagles beat Houstan which makes for a good weekend. The Bears game was fun to watch with all the bear fans and a small mix of Packer fans.

This is a picture of half of a dorm. This is Alumni Hall room 432. Bringing fans is a great idea for anyone. The dorm has a lot of different compartments where you can store things.

Life here at Valpo

Life here at Valpo so far has been extremely busy. I play football so i have practice everyday as well as meetings and mandatory study hour. I find study session very benefictial. Its only 2 hours but its quiet and you find it easier to do your work. The dorms are usually busy and everyone is nice here. The upperclassmen are great and help you out. I am enjoying my college experience so far and have meet a lot of great people. I look forward to meeting more as well.

As far as the party life goes, it is dominated by the Fraternities and Sororities. The parties they throw are fun, but thats not all you can do on a weekend. There is a movie theatre near by and bowling. A water park is just down the road as well.
