Numero Once

INSANITY!!!

I just got out of a musical rehearsal which started at 1:00 and continued until around 11:00. I had a few short breaks to eat and etc.... Wow this is going to be a crazy week.

I got to bed at 10:30 last night. It was so exciting, which is really sad, but I was excited. Now (close to midnight) I have to make this entry, finish my online Theory test, somehow magically spend one hour doing online Spanish things, read 2 books of St. Augustine's Confessions, and write a paragraph assignments on said entries. It will not all be finished.

I'm tired.

The good news is that this should be an awesome musical. I am very excited for it. It's just going to be surviving this week that's tricky... Especially without getting sick. It seems like a plague of mono is sweeping campus, along with several other ailments... and I need to try at the same time to not lose my voice from pure overuse and lack of sleep... I sense a cycle. Oy...

Here's a sweet picture of the Chapel at night, which seems to be the time that I have been functioning extensively lately.

And here is a picture that I took of the moon one day, because it was huge, but in the picture it looks sadly tiny.

The Week of Catching Up and Not Sleepingfulness [12th]

As predicted, the Production went splendidly. I'm very happy with how everything went, and I had a lot of fun. Now I have the unparalled pleasure of spending my time this week struggling to get back on top of my work pile that is growing as my work is perpetually pouring from the malignant showerhead just beyond the reach of my straining, browned fingers.

Yes.

Here is a picture of me after the Friday afternoon show, which my parents, brothers, and two friends from South Haven got to see.

Well, I'm back to the grind. Next week: Thanksgiving break! I can't wait until Friday...

The Thirteenth Week of the First Semester of the First Year of My Collegiate Life

Happy Thanksgiving Break! Ah, what a glorious week it has been. I do miss living in a household with a family that shares nearly the same values with me. That has possibly been the biggest downer for me at college; suddenly I am not surrounded by people who I can easily talk to about politics and morals. Granted, this is both a blessing and a curse, because it does provide me with a good atmosphere to test my values through some healthy debate. However, I have not had much of a chance to do so, which I think is partly due to my busy schedule and partly due to the fact that the conservative majority in my dorm wing is so oppressive. The commonly held belief seems to be that anyone who didn't vote straight-ticket republican for this year's elections was a "dirty liberal," without debate. That's depressing, and I'm still dealing with it. I do think that things will improve, though. I know, from what I've seen around campus, that there is a good progressive presence at Valpo; I just need time to find my niche in it.

Anyway, spending eight days in my hometown with family and old friends has been very relaxing (perhaps too relaxing... I need to get back to homework!!), and I feel more ready to finish this semester strongly.

We have dial-up Internet at my house, and it's being extremely slow and not letting me upload pictures, so I'll have to upload some pictures for this page later when I have access to campus Internet.

My computer's been going kind of crazy lately, and I haven't been able to upload pictures to my blog, but now it works, so here are a couple of pictures from Thanksgiving; first, my Dad and his brothers:
