My name is Susana but mostly everyone calls me Susie. I am rooming with my twin sister Sandy, so sometimes I do get called Sandy but I respond to all three names. Anyways, coming from the southwest side of Chicago, Valpo does seem a LITTLE bit quiet, but it's kind of nice sleeping without the loud trains or the planes flying at odd hours of the night.
I've already gotten through the sad goodbye yesterday, which was so much easier to deal with having Sandy there. I knew I had to keep busy to destract me from being home-sick, so making friends was a MUST! Luckily I had kept in touch with my FOCUS group which made it easier to have a good time the first two days. The list that was given to new students for the fun events and goings-on of the night was so helpful. I think I did pretty much every event on that packet. It's important for me to do as many things as possible because I know at the end of the night I won't have " I shoulda' " thoughts.
As of now, I think I'm pretty set with my school supplies, room neccesities, and food. The only thing I am a little worried about is where all of my classes are. I think a little group of us girls are going on a walk to all of our classes so that when tomorrow comes around, we won't be completely clueless. I'm feeling pretty good about Valpo!
