Candy (Conrad ’89) Kilpinen completed her bachelor’s degree in history from Valparaiso University. She became active in the VU Guild following graduation and has served as chair of the Guild Advisory Team during a challenging restructuring of the organization. Following the reorganization, Kilpinen served as chair of the Guild's Board of Directors and helped implement monitoring systems to oversee the new organizational structures. Kilpinen worked on the Guild’s 2007-2010 strategic plan and served as Guild representative to the VU Board of Directors. She also served the university in a professional capacity within the office of admission, both as an admission assistant and as assistant director of admission. Kilpinen researched and implemented the new student orientation program, FOCUS. As a current student at the VU School of Law, the daughter of VU alumni, the wife of VU Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences Jon Kilpinen, and the mother of children who were involved in Valpo summer workshops and sports camps, Kilpinen remains steeped in university tradition and contributes to the vitality of Valparaiso University.
