Philip Leege ’57 holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Valparaiso University. He currently resides in Ohio after more than 40 years of service to the Procter & Gamble Co. as both an engineer and special projects manager in the field of energy conservation. He was honored as an Engineer of the Year by Design Magazine for his achievements in resource conservation and landfill dependence reduction. He also has received a series of awards from national organizations such as the United States Composting Council, the American Paper Institute and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for his creative and innovative work in compost system development, waste water treatment and energy conservation. Leege has been awarded numerous Michigan state and county awards for his distinguished service. He currently serves as a consultant for Prairie Green Renewable Energy Inc., to help develop a renewable energy fuel ethanol production plant in Hudson Bay, Saskatchewan. Leege is a member of the VU College of Engineering National Council.
