Sandy Paukner is the daughter of Valparaiso University alumni and the mother of two children who graduated from VU in 2000 and 2002. Aside from extensive family connections, Paukner has developed her own relationship to the university as a volunteer with the VU Guild. She has served that organization as nominating committee chair, as a member of the advisory team, and as president of the Milwaukee Suburban Chapter. Paukner initiated and chaired the Care Package Project, in which the members of her local Milwaukee Guild Chapter created and delivered care packages to VU students from the Milwaukee area. She has baked numerous cakes for the Guild Cake Project and delivered them to campus; chaperoned a bus trip for prospective students visiting VU; and co-chaired her local Spring Basket Luncheon, a fundraising event that raised more than $2,500 for the Guild in the past year. In addition to her work with the VU Guild, Paukner also has supported her local Valpo Club and the Valpo Admission Network, as well as the VU Pep Band. She and her husband have opened the doors of their home to touring Valpo band members and have supported the university by traveling to tournament sporting events, campus concerts, and a multitude of other university activities.
