Alumni Community Service Award
honors alumni who have enhanced the prestige of the University by virtue of their character and integrity through outstanding service in their community.
Michael S. Rehbein ’78 earned
his Bachelor of Science
degree from Valpo and then went on to receive his M.D. from the University
of Minnesota in 1982. He is a member of the American
Academy of Pediatrics. Rehbein was a pediatrician with the United
Sates Air Force from 1985 to 1989 at Edwards Air Force Base in California. He then became a general pediatrician
with Kaiser Permanente in Stockton, Calif. He is currently working in Modesto,
Calif. as the assistant physician-in-chief
with Kaiser Permanente. He
has served his church community by being a leader in their confirmation program
for the past 15 years. He also
has stayed involved with Valparaiso University
by participating in the Valpo spring break medical service trips for the past
seven years.
