RickmanMichael R. Rickman ’84 received his Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from Valparaiso University in 1984.  He then received his J.D. from Washington University School of Law in St. Louis. Rickman currently resides in Shanghai and is leading The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company’s Asia/Pacific Tire Business Unit’s (AP) legal team in advising and assisting AP’s businesses and counseling Goodyear Corporate regarding antitrust and trade regulations matters.  From 2001-2010, he was Assistant General Counsel – North American Tire in Akron, Ohio.  Prior to joining Goodyear in 1996, he was with Taft, Stettinius & Hollister in Cincinnati, Ohio.  He has written and lectured on numerous white collar, antitrust and trade regulation topics.  Rickman served on the Valparaiso University Alumni Association board from 2001 to 2010 holding various executive committee positions.  In 2008 and 2009, he served as president of the Valparaiso University Alumni Association during the University’s 150th celebration and was very involved with the process of naming the 150 Most Influential Alumni.  He also is a member of the Christ College Honor’s Program Alumni Advisory Board.  Rickman also has been active in the various communities and churches where he has lived.  He was past president and chairman of the board of the Hamilton County (Ohio) Special Olympics.  Rickman’s wife, Dawn, is a 2011 recipient of the Valparaiso University Alumni Association’s Honorary Alumni membership award.
