Mark RutherfordMark W. Rutherford ’86, J.D. received his law degree from Valparaiso in 1986.  He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1982 from Wabash College.  Since graduating from Valpo, he has worked in various law firms.  He is currently an attorney and owner with Thrasher Buschmann & Voelkel, P.C. in Indianapolis, Ind.  Rutherford has served on the Valparaiso University School of Law National Council and is currently an emeritus member. He also served as a special gifts co-chair for the law school’s building connections campaign from 2003 to 2004.  He has both chaired and lectured at numerous law seminars throughout his career. He was the recipient of the exemplary service award for the criminal justice section of the Indiana State Bar Association in 2001 and the Indianapolis Bar Foundation Distinguished Fellow in 2002.  Currently he serves as chairman of the Indiana Public Defender Commission, is president of the Central Indiana Tennis Association, Inc. and is vice president of the Woodstock Club.  Mark is married to Linda Hamilton Hensley and they live in Indianapolis, Ind.
