recognizes alumni who have rendered outstanding service to the University.

David L Valentine ’80 earned his Bachelor of Science degree in business administration with a major in accounting from Valparaiso University. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and also the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants.  He began his career with Fox & Company, CPAs as an auditor in 1980, and  joined Sysco Corporation, North America’s largest foodservice marketer and distributor, in 1986.  In 2008, he was named the company’s vice president and assistant controller in Houston.  Valentine is active in his church, having previously served as financial secretary, treasurer, confirmation teacher and men’s ministry leader.  He also has been very involved with Valparaiso University and served on the Alumni Association Board of Directors from 2003 to 2010, and has been active in the Valpo Club of Houston.  He has three children.
