Distinguished Teaching Award

Beth SewellBeth Scaglione Sewell received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Simpson College in 1985 and her Doctorate degree in biology from Kansas State University in 1992. Beth is a member of the Indiana College Biology Teachers Association and also the Human Anatomy and Physiology Society. She completed her postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Chicago School of Medicine. From 1992 to 1994 she was a National Institutes of Health Research Fellow. Professor Scaglione Sewell was a Research Assistant Professor at the University of Chicago from 1998 to 2000 and then came to Valparaiso University. Since 2006, she is the Pre-medical Arts Fellow at Valpo. She is currently an Associate Professor of Biology. She and her husband, Mark, and two sons live in Valparaiso.
