Valparaiso UniversityTheatre Department Announces New Season

 

The Valparaiso University Theatre Department has announced its 2012-2013 season.

 

October 10-14, 2012--Dead Man's Cell Phone by Sara Ruhl (Winner of the 2008 Helen Hayes Award for Best New Play or Musical).  Studio Theatre.  Evening performances 8 p.m., Sat and Sun matinees at 2.  R. Andrew White directs.
 
November 7-11, 2012--The House of Bernarda Alba by Federico Garcia Lorca, adapted in English by Emily Mann.  University Theatre.  Evening performances 8 p.m., Sat and Sun matinees at 2. Lee F. Orchard directs.
 
December 3-5, 2012--The Acting/Directing Showcase (8 One-Acts). All performances at 8 p.m. in the Studio Theatre.  Specific titles and directors to be announced.
 
February 7-10, 2013--Dance Ensemble.  University Theatre.  Evening performances 8 p.m., Sat
and Sun matinees at 2.  Ann Kessler directs.
 
February 20-24, 2013--How I Learned To Drive by Paula Vogel (Winner of the 1998 Pulitzer Prize. Co-winner of the Susan Smith Blackburn Prize. Co-winner of the 1998 Lucille Lortel Award for outstanding play).  Studio Theatre.  Evening performances 8 p.m., Sat and Sun matinees at 2.  R. Andrew White directs.
 
April 24-28, 2013--The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee by William Finn (music and lyrics) and Rachel Sheinkin (book).  (Winner of the 2005 Drama Desk Award and Lucille Lortel Award for Best Musical and the 2005 Tony Award for Best Book for a Musical).  Evening performances 8 p.m., Sat and Sun matinees at 2.  Lee F. Orchard directs.
 
May 2-3, 2013--Student Showcase Production.  Both performances at 8 p.m. in the Studio Theatre.  Title and director to be announced.
