M.B.A. Students Aid Organization for the Homeless
Valparaiso University’s Master of Business Administration students are lending their expertise to a local not-for-profit organization that provides aid to people who are homeless.
The students are developing a strategic and financial plan for Christian Community Action, a growing organization in Valparaiso that assists people who are homeless through its Spring Valley Shelter while working to prevent homelessness.
The M.B.A. students are helping CCA to clarify its mission while remaining financially secure through innovative fundraising techniques.
Michael Yohe, president of the CCA Board of Directors and a retired Valparaiso University administrator, praised the students’ work. He noted that the project is an excellent example of the university and the community working together to improve quality of life in the region.
“The M.B.A. team has been very open with us, and I feel very good about the whole process,” he said. “The work by the students will sharpen the board’s focus.”
