Valpo Business Professor to Lead Organization of Business Scholars
A professor in Valparaiso University’s College of Business Administration has been elected to lead the Midwest Decision Sciences Institute, a premier professional organization of business scholars.

Ceyhun Ozgur, professor of information and decision sciences, was selected the organization’s president-elect at its annual meeting in Chicago in April 2007. After one year as president-elect, Ozgur will serve as president from April 2008 through April 2009 and then as immediate past president.
The MWDSI is one of five regional associations that are part of the national Decision Science Institute. The regional association is dedicated to advancing knowledge and improving instruction in all business and related disciplines through publications, conferences and other services.
Ozgur’s teaching and research interests are in the areas of operations management, business statistics and management science. He co-wrote the textbook “Introduction to Management Science with Spreadsheets,” which was published by McGraw-Hill in 2006 and covered subjects such as decision models, transportation problems and network optimization models.
He has written scholarly articles for Decision Sciences Journal of Innovative Education, Quality Management Journal, International Journal of Operations and Quantitative Management, and the International Journal of Quality and Reliability Management. He also has written study guides, test banks and instructor manuals for several business statistics, operations management and management science textbooks, and serves as an associate editor of the Decision Sciences Journal of Innovative Education and serves on the editorial review board of the Quality Management Journal and the International Journal of Operations and Quantitative Management.
