Mark Budnik, assistant professor of electrical and computer engineering, and his students are working with Infineon Technologies AG, a spin-off of Siemens, to develop a textbook for engineering students planning careers in the electronics industry. The textbook stems from a concept known as “bridging theory into practice.”

Eric Johnson ’87 EE, associate professor of electrical and computer engineering, is helping to set up a Chinese engineering program, similar to Valparaiso University’s International Engineering Program in German, which already is operational. The goal of the program is to provide engineering students the opportunity to study and work for one year in China. In the fall, students would participate in Valpo’s regular study-abroad program in Hangzhou (taking classes at Zhejiang University in English). In the spring/summer, they would intern with an engineering company in China.
