• Acclaimed Chicago band The Academy Is... will perform at Valparaiso University on Sept. 12 in a concert hosted by Valpo's student radio station WVUR 95.1 FM.

Britton, Root Named to All-Tournament Team at Drake

• Sophomore Katie Britton (Mishawaka, Ind./Marian) and freshman Taylor Root (Jenison, Mich./Jenison) represented Valparaiso on the Hampton Inn Drake Invitational All-Tournament Team, as announced at the conclusion of the tournament Saturday night.

Desario Named Horizon League Player of the Week

• Valparaiso University freshman Luisa Desario (Bartlett, Ill./Bartlett H.S.) has been named the Horizon League’s Player of the Week after helping lead the Crusaders to a 1-1 mark at the Boilermaker Challenge Cup.
