Residence: Roselle, Ill.
Education: B.S.N., Valparaiso University, 2006, including participation in Valpo’s accelerated nursing program.
On her career: “I have wanted to work in the health care field since I was three years old. My grandmother was in a serious car accident and put on a ventilator. I saw how the doctors and nurses helped her, and from that point forward I knew my calling. My passion is caring for people—as nurses we care for the patient and the family. I’m considering going back to school for a master’s degree in either acute care or adult care. There are so many opportunities for growth that my options are endless.”
On her Valpo education: “Valpo gave me the confidence in my knowledge and skills to excel in the workplace. The entire College of Nursing staff prepared me for a realistic perspective of nursing and working in a hospital. Valpo also helped me learn to treat patients holistically and to think outside the box. I was continually challenged to excel and to settle for nothing less than my best.”
