PUBLIC OPEN HOUSE
SCHEDULE – Fall 2013
The VU Observatory Public Open House for tonight, Friday, December 6 will be moved to Neils Science Center due to the cloudy weather.

The Department of Physics & Astronomy, Valparaiso University continues its series of public astronomy programs for Fall 2013. In addition to our regular Observatory Open House program we plan to give a popular, illustrated public talk on one of these evenings. Each evening will include telescope viewing at the VU Observatory (clear nights) or a constellation program at the VU Planetarium (cloudy nights). These are free and the public is invited.
Oct. 18: Dr. Sun Kwok, Dean of Science, The University of Hong Kong, "Stardust: The Cosmic Seeds of Life", VU Center for the Arts, Duesenberg Recital Hall.
OBSERVATORY: On the clear nights, viewing will be carried out with the VU computer-controlled telescope. Come and enjoy views of the moon, planets, star clusters and galaxies. Call 464-5202 or visit this website after 5 p.m. on these dates to confirm if the weather is clear enough for the Observatory to open. The schedule and maps are also available on the above web site. (Groups should make separate arrangements by calling 464-5369.)
SARA OBSERVING: On Sept. 27 the public is invited to join us in Neils Science Center 234 from 9:30 p.m. -10:30 p.m. in observing remotely with the SARA telescope in Arizona.
