Rebecca Borgeson ’11 is a psychology and undeclared business major from Mexico, Missouri. Her favorite thing about Valpo is the genuine, caring, entertaining and loveable people that make up the student body of Valparaiso University. Kaylene Boroski ’11 is a civil engineering major from Wakeman, Ohio. The thing she most enjoys about Valpo is the community of students and faculty. The faculty is personable, and most of the student body is open and inviting. She is looking forward to the Student Alumni Association because it is a group that helps to foster the friendly air of the campus by promoting school pride and unity through linking the current students with their alumni, and keeping the alumni an active part of the community. Anna DeLuna ’11 is a psychology major from Glen Ellyn, Illinois. The thing she most enjoys about being a member of the Student Alumni Association is being a part of Valpo’s tradition and spirit, having hands on involvement in our important events, and networking with our alumni. Justin Egge ’10 is a biology and theology double major from Sioux Falls, South Dakota. His favorite thing about Valpo is the overwhelming amount of options within university and possibilities that becomes available after Valpo. Valpo’s encouragement for opportunity is unique and exciting. Furthermore, the Student Alumni Association works to create a bridge between the opportunities within the university and those after graduation. He looks forward to discussing the diverse possibilities which affect both students and alumni. Rachel Evans ’11 is a biology/pre-med major from Bettendorf, Iowa. She is our 2009 secretary/treasurer. Her favorite part of Valpo is everything, she loves it all. She cannot wait to share her feelings toward the community environment, academic excellence, social events, and spiritual opportunities with everyone she talks with. She is also excited about meeting current, future, and past Valpo students that share a similar feeling about Valpo. Claire Flesch ’11 is a political public relations major from St. Louis Missouri. Her favorite thing about Valpo is how genuinely nice people are and how much people care about each other. Dana Goble ’11 is an international business and Spanish major from Holland, Michigan. As a member of SAA she is most looking forward to connecting with someone who graduated with a similar major so she can see the possibilities of where her studies could take her in the future. Krysta Gumbiner ’11 is a political science major with a pre-law concentration from Schererville, Indiana. Her favorite thing about Valpo is the amazing people that she met here during her freshmen year. The friendships that she made will last a lifetime. She is also really looking forward to being a part of Valpo’s Homecoming this year and many other amazing opportunities that will be presented through SAA. Courtney Heitkamp ’10 is a political science, political communication and pre-law Christ College student from Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Her favorite thing about Valpo is the strong partnership between students and faculty. She also enjoys how her professors have always encouraged her to not only perform well in the classroom, but to also live her life as an example for others. Michelle Laning '10 is a biology, chemistry, and pre-vet major from Lindenhurst, Illinois. She loves the small, close-knit atmosphere at Valpo. Bruce Morgan II ’09 is an accounting and marketing double major from Eagan, Minnesota. The thing he likes most about Valpo is watching it grow and expand. Valpo has come a long way in the past four years. Much of the campus has changed both structurally and internally. He is really excited to see this university advance in it’s academic standing as well as provide incredible educational opportunities for all. The Student Alumni Association strives to utilize the talents of undergraduates in order to foster a great alum experience, and he believes that being a part of this organization will build a strong foundation for him to be an active alum throughout his career and life. Callie Spengler '10 is an international business and Chinese and Japanese studies major from Gurnee, Illinois. Her favorite thing about Valpo is the experiences it offers and the people she's met. Favorite quote: "Forgive and forget."
Kevin Strbjak '09 is a political science major from Munster, Indiana. He really enjoys the sense of community shared by the students, faculty and staff at Valpo. Rachel Troester ’10 is a Chemistry and Spanish double major from Mokena, Illinois. Her favorite thing about Valpo is the community that forms not only between friends but between the students and professors. The professors are highly involved in the students’ lives and the friendships made here are special and unique. She also is looking forward to being a member of the Student Alumni Association because of how they work from that sense of community and connect old students with the new to create an even broader community. She is excited about working with everyone to make sure that bond continues to grow and alumni continue to enjoy this place they once called home.
