Stephanie (Schuricht) Pequette

Class of 2008

Volleyball (1992-1995)

A volleyball standout for four seasons at Valparaiso, Stephanie (Schuricht) Pequette ranks as the top setter in Mid-Continent Conference history.

A two-time First Team All Mid-Con selection, Pequette still holds the league’s career assist mark with 4,993 over the course of her career, and was ranked 21st in NCAA Division I upon graduation.

She helped lead the Brown and Gold to the 1994 and 1995 Mid-Continent Conference championships, and was named to the league’s All-Tournament Team on both occasions.  Pequette also helped Valpo earn NCAA play-in berths both seasons, the first two such appearances in school history.

Strong on the serve as well, the three-time Crusader co-captain still ranks sixth in school laurels with 127 career aces.  Pequette also remains among Valpo’s top 10 in digs and blocks as well.  Twice she was named Mid-Con Athlete of the Week, and, as a senior, she concluded her career being named the Valparaiso University Female Athlete of the Year.

Pequette is employed as a physical therapist for Athletic and Therapeutic Institute in New Lenox, Ill.
