Valpo's Spring Football Kicked Off Monday

Valparaiso opened its 2007 spring camp on Monday afternoon with the first of 14 workouts leading up to the annual Brown and Gold game to be held at Brown Field on Saturday, April 28.

Head coach Stacy Adams' squad will practice Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays (except April 7) this spring through April 27. The annual spring game will take place at 12:30 p.m. on April 28, with an alumni reception and flag football game being held at 11 a.m.

The Crusaders return All-Pioneer Football League selection and 1,000-yard receiver Steve Ogden (Wauwatosa, Wis./West H.S.), career rushing leader Jeff Horton (Saint Louis, Mo./Lutheran North H.S.), who returns from injury, as well as Ryan Koepke (Fort Wayne, Ind./Homestead H.S.), the team's leading tackler in 2006. Valpo finished the 2006 season 3-8 overall and 1-6 in the PFL.
