Jack Gabor begins his second season with the Crusaders after completing one of the most prolific high school coaching careers in the state of Indiana.
Gabor compiled 334 wins in 23 seasons as a Head Coach, winning Indiana Coach of the Year honors eight times. He spent six seasons as the Head Coach at Griffith High School, winning conference championships in 2002 and 2003. Gabor's players at Griffith included Valpo center Kenny Harris, the Mid-Continent Conference's Sixth Man of the Year for the 2004-05 season.
In addition to his basketball resume, Gabor also had a fine career as a baseball coach, winning 283 games in 12 seasons. He is one of only two coaches in Indiana history to reach the State Final Four as both a baseball and basketball coach, guiding the Bishop Noll baseball team in 1984 and taking Bishop Noll's basketball team in 1988.
Gabor was first introduced to college basketball in 1978 as a graduate assistant at Indiana University under Bobby Knight, spending the 1978-79 season with The General. Gabor's first head coaching job came in 1982 when he took over at Bishop Noll Institute in Hammond, Indiana. Jack and his wife, Susan, currently reside in Valparaiso.
