Matt Van Daele moved into a coaching role at Valparaiso University prior to the 2005 season as the wide receivers coach after playing for the Brown and Gold for four years.
In his first season with the Crusaders, Van Daele led a First Team All-Pioneer Football League wide receiver for Valpo.
Van Daele played for the Crusaders from 2001 through 2004, where he was a four-year letterwinner as a fullback and tailback. He also returned kicks during his freshman campaign and was a member of the 2003 Pioneer Football League championship team.
Van Daele earned his bachelor's degree at Valparaiso in physical education in 2005 and is currently working towards a master's degree in sports administration which he is scheduled to complete in the spring of 2007. Matt is single and resides in Valparaiso.
