Taushauna Churchwell joins the Valparaiso University women’s basketball staff for the 2007-2008 season as a graduate assistant.
Churchwell played collegiately at Grand Valley State University from 2003-2007 where she was a member of the team’s Division II national championship team as a junior. She holds the school record for most games played and was also a team captain for the Lakers. A three-time Scholar-Athlete Award recipient, Churchwell was named the team’s Most Improved player as a senior.
Churchwell was the head coach of the Muskegon Lady Wizards for five springs from 2003-2007 where she helped lead the youth team to a AYBT national championship and two state championships. Her teams have played in three national championship finals.
A 2007 graduate of Grand Valley State with a degree in movement science, Churchwell is currently enrolled in Valparaiso’s sports administration master’s program.
