Crusaders Travel Outside Contiguous 48 For Paradise Jam
Senior Jake Diebler scored eight points and registered five rebounds and five assists Tuesday.
Having started 2-0 for the fourth straight season, Valparaiso will look to extend its season-opening winning streak this weekend at the Paradise Jam in the U.S. Virgin Islands.  The Crusaders will take on San Diego in the opener before facing either Iona or Wisconsin in their second game.  Miami (Fla.), La Salle, Southern Miss and UConn are on the other side of the tournament bracket....Full Story

Led by 22 points from Agnieszka Kulaga (Tarnow, Poland/I Liceum Ogolnokstalcace H.S.) and a double-double by Aimee Litka (South Bend, Ind./Saint Joseph’s H.S.), Valparaiso opened the 2008-2009 regular season on Wednesday evening with a 69-58 victory over Bowling Green....Full Story
Crusaders Place Four on All-League Squad; Porché Player of ...
Angie Porché was named the Horizon League Player of the Year on Wednesday.

Valparaiso had a league-best four players selected to the Horizon League All-League team as the league announced its year-end awards on Wednesday. Kim Bukowski (Waukesha, Wis./West), Brittany Malicoat (Elkhart, Ind./Memorial), Angie Porché (Lynwood, Ill./Thornton Fractional South) and Allison Sears (Elkhart, Ind./Memorial) were all named to the All-League squad. In addition, Porché was named the Player of the Year, while Malicoat was selected as Defensive Player of the Year for the second season in a row.

Valpo Women Open Season Wednesday Hosting Bowling Green

Valparaiso will tip off the 38th season of women’s basketball on Wednesday evening at the ARC as the Crusaders host Bowling Green.  Valpo won both of its exhibition games, and is opening at home for just the second time in the last eight years.  Bowling Green opened its season on Friday night in Philadelphia, Pa. dropping a 70-55 contest to Temple....full story
