Whether you spend your time isolating genes or examining the complexities of the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore, you’ll explore the vastness of life through an inquiry-based curriculum that gives you immediate access to state-of-the-art equipment.

Nearly all courses include a laboratory component, and the department makes extensive field trips for its laboratory courses in organismal biology. Students are also encouraged to conduct research under the supervision of faculty members.
