Salary/Pay:Unpaid (academic credit available)
Description:We are offering individuals interested in government, politics or law enforcement the opportunity to become a part of our fast-paced, cutting-edge campaign team.  Valuable experience will be gained in the following areas: field visibility and voter contact (door-to-door canvassing, phone banking, database development, online organizing, mapping, event planning, and participating in parades and campaign events), research and communications (campaign message, issues research, opposition research, website development, online media, graphic design, media relations and writing), finance and fundraising (research, data entry, call time with the candidate and event planning) and office support.  

 This is an excellent opportunity to learn the inside workings of a campaign for Sheriff of Lake County while making valuable contacts for a future role in government, politics or law enforcement.  Interns will sharpen their communication and analytical skills, gain an enhanced understanding of national and local politics and work directly with campaign staff and volunteers.

 All interns must be fast learners as well as effective communicators who are ready and willing to spread the word about Oscar Martinez.  High school and college level interns should have a strong academic record.  College-level interns enrolled in a related field of study (e.g. Public Affairs, Communications, Political Science, Marketing, Computer Science, Spanish, Law Enforcement) are encouraged to apply.

Campaign work is flexible, and we can accommodate most schedules.  Internships are not paid, but students are able to earn college or high school credit, depending on the requirements of the institution.
