WELLNESS INTERN
Title:Wellness Intern

Description:

The qualified candidate will be working approximately 15-20 hours a week for approximately 3 months and will work primarily between the hours of 8a-5p, with the ability to flex up or down with those hours based on the client's needs.  This position will have the opportunity to work with the site Health Educator on program planning and implementation and will have the opportunity to work in corporate, manufacturing and health center settings.  This person will also have the opportunity to own at least 2 projects from start to finish and will be working with clients who have not exercised regularly.

 Job Responsibilities include:

  • Develop educational boards for use in informal settings
  • Observe and participate in all aspects of the current onsite health education programs
  • Assist with marketing and motivating employees to participate in programs
  • Help with program evaluations and referrals
  • Participate in on going health promotion campaigns
  • Plan, promote and lead a walking event at two manufacturing sites
  • Plan, market and implement an assigned health event on own
  • Help track participant data
  • Plan and lead two lobby learning sessions or lunch time presentations on a chronic disease
Qualifications:At minimum, the candidate is a senior in an accredited school of public health, health, fitness, community health; health promotion or physical education, exercise science or comparative program. Must be an energetic, enthusiastic promoter of health education and wellness. Ability to communicate with employees at all levels of a corporate organization. CPR, fitness industry of dietary certifications preferred. Ability to commit to a work schedule that some times includes various shifts.
