The Staff and Faculty of the College of Business Administration strongly believe that internships are a critical component of a student’s education. Internships are a valuable means for self-assessment, providing students with the knowledge and skills to make informed career decisions.
What is an internship?
An internship is a structured and supervised professional experience in which a student has intentional learning goals and earns academic credit. Internships are required for all College of Business Administration students.
An internship integrates the strengths of a business education with the skills and training of on-the-job work experience. The internship experience complements and enhances a student’s academic training and provides a professional introduction to an individual’s career field.
What does the student bring to the employer?
Valparaiso University business majors concentrate in accounting, marketing, management, finance, international business and information and decision sciences. All students are computer literate and bring fresh ideas, enthusiasm, and problem solving skills to the workplace.
