About the Valpo MEM

Today’s most successful engineers need more than a strong undergraduate degree.  To maximize their professional potential they need a background that provides business knowledge, management skills, technical expertise, and hands-on experience.

The Valpo Masters of Engineering Management program is designed to do all this and more.  It gives engineering graduates the edge they need to provide leadership in today’s multi-disciplinary business environments.

Why the Valpo MEM?

  • Our program emphasizes both values-based leadership and environmental stewardship – key skills in the global marketplace.
  • Valpo’s College of Business Administration is among the elite 25% of business schools accredited by AACSB International.
  • Valpo’s engineering programs ranked in the top 20% of undergraduate programs in the country according to U. S. News and World Report (2005).

Your schedule

Like its counterpart, the Valpo MBA program, the MEM provides scheduling flexibility.  The 36-credit degree can be completed in one year as a full-time student or in two to three years as a part-time student.  Valpo also offers rolling admission and compact 7-week course blocks.

Your faculty

You are our faculty’s top priority.  Classes are intentionally small and all faculty have an “open door” policy to maximize out-of-classroom interaction.  You will engage with professors from both Valpo’s College of Engineering and College of Business Administration, many of whom have PhDs backed up by “real world” experience.

Your environment
All MEM classes and faculty offices are located in Urschel Hall so we have a tightly knit community focused on professional and personal growth.  Urschel is also home to the undergraduate College of Business Administration, the MBA, and is a wireless facility equipped with state-of-the-art electronic classrooms.

You are HERE
Valparaiso University is only an hour’s drive from Chicago, South Bend, and southwestern Michigan (on Central Time).  Urschel Hall has plenty of free parking directly outside the building.
