An effort is under way to renew and enhance the Chapel of the Resurrection, which for half a century has stood as a central symbol of Lutheran character and mission at Valparaiso University.
The Chapel of the Resurrection Fundraising Initiative: Our Future in Faith is an undertaking designed to prepare the chapel for dynamic ministry in the years ahead. According to President Mark A. Heckler, the Chapel of the Resurrection stands "as the centerpiece of campus and the heart of worship, service, leadership, and reconciliation for the campus community."
You're invited to join us this Sunday morning, Dec. 4, which is the Second Sunday in Advent. Dr. Walt Wangerin will preach and Rev. Char Cox will preside. The service will be held in the Main Chapel.
Candlelight Evening Prayer is offered Sunday at 10 p.m. each Sunday classes are in session.
Worship isn't just for Sundays! The Chapel offers eight different services a week, including Morning Prayer at 11:15 a.m. each day of classes. Coming up Nov. 28th, we begin Music Under the Gallery, special seasonal music by campus musicians, followed daily by reflections on the music of Advent. Speakers for Nov. 28-Dec. 2 are Rev. Brian Johnson, Dr. Fred Niedner, Maura Cock, Colleen Degen and Dr. Dennis Friesen-Carper.
