The Eastern Orthodox Church is famous for Easter eggs decorated with pictures of icons, symbols of the Church and the resurrected Christ which are then blessed by church leaders. Eggs are symbols of fertility, renewal, life, eternity and rebirth and, as such, have been used as a symbol of Easter. Join some of our VU Eastern European students on Good Friday, April 10, 2009, from 7-9 p.m., at the Chapel (undercroft) as they share this tradition with us. There will be dyes, paint and eggs available to let you express your Easter faith. Celebrate with our international sisters and brothers!
