The 8th annual Peace and Social Justice Symposium – “Peace-ing it Together: Race Relations, Mediation and Conflict Resolution, Social Activism, Law and Justice” – is Nov. 5-7 at the Union in Ballrooms A-C. This is a CORE approved event, sponsored by numerous departments.
Keynote speaker is John Nunes, president and CEO of Lutheran World Relief, an organization that acts to end poverty and uphold human dignity by empowering the world’s most impoverished communities. He will be speaking at 11 a.m. Nov. 7th about genuine empowerment through economic engagement. Registration begins that morning at 9:30 a.m. His address is sponsored by SALT/Chapel of the Resurrection.
Registration is free and can be done on-site or in advance (for a form, email Amy.Cook@valpo.edu), however, advance reservation is required for the ethnic food luncheon Nov. 5th and 7th.
