The date for the 2011 Advent Christmas Vespers will be Friday, Dec. 9, at 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. at the Chapel of the Resurrection. This year's theme is "My Spirit Rejoices." Special music will be provided by the Kantorei of the Chapel of the Resurrection, under the direction of Eldon Balko, Associate Professor Emeritus of Music, and by the VU Handbell Choir.

Reserved seating cards for each service will be available beginning Nov. 1 by either stopping by the Chapel during regular hours or at the Harre Union welcome desk. You may also request cards by emailing chris.boshoven@valpo.edu. Please indicate how many cards are needed and whether they are for the 7 or 10 p.m. service, and provide a name and mailing address.

The annual service of special readings and music is a traditional part of Advent celebrations on campus. The 7 p.m. service is designed for the Northwest Indiana community and will feature several community leaders as readers. Members of the campus community will serve as readers at the 10 p.m. service.
