ELCA OFFICIAL SPEAKS NOV. 17TH

On Tuesday, November 17th, 2009, a public information session on the actions of this summer’s national assembly of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America will be held at 7 p.m. in the Community Room of the Christopher Center.

The Rev. Dr. Stanley Olson, executive director of the ELCA’s Office of Vocation and Education, will report on the actions of the assembly related to the passing of the Statement on Human Sexuality and the recommendations for ministry which include the rostering of persons in publically accountable, monogamous, life-long, same-gender relationships. A copy of the statement is available on line at www.elca.org/ministrypolicies.

“We welcome Rev. Olson to campus and look forward to learning from the information he presents,” University Pastor Darlene Grega said. For more information, contact Pastor Grega at 464-5099.
