CHAPEL'S 50TH CELEBRATION CONTINUES
The celebration of the Chapel’s 50th anniversary continues with events throughout the year, including a concert in the Chapel Friday, Oct. 2, at 8 p.m. by Chanticleer, the Grammy Award-winning a cappella chorus.

Special events for Homecoming weekend will include a hymn sing at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, at the Chapel, as well as a special festive worship service at 10 a.m. Oct. 11th and then a special organ concert by Martin Jean, associate professor of organ at Yale University, at 3 p.m. Oct. 11th.

Dr. Jean is recognized widely as one of the world’s leading concert organists. Winner of two of the most prestigious organ competitions in the world, he has performed extensively throughout the United States, Canada and Europe. Prior to assuming the position at Yale, Dr. Jean was university organist and an associate professor at VU.

Tickets for Martin Jean’s performance are: $15 for adults, $10 for non-VU students and senior citizens (contact the VUCA box office at 464-5162); VU students, faculty and staff admitted free with VU identification.

Also during Homecoming weekend, the Chapel will host the University symphony, a choral concert and 50th anniversary tours with the Rev. Joseph Cunningham. For the full schedule, go to http://www.valpo.edu/alumni/homecoming/
