Sunday, Sept. 27th, you’ll definitely want to be at the Chapel for the 50th anniversary celebratory service at 10 a.m.! Preaching that day will be Rev. David Kehret, former University Associate Pastor at the Chapel.

Pr. Kehret, who now lives in Virginia, served at VU from 1984 to 2002. In 2002 he received the Martin Luther King Jr. Award for his help in broadening understanding of multicultural issues and for providing a witness about how people from diverse backgrounds can come to value one another.

Before coming to the University, Pr. Kehret served as campus pastor for 14 years for Lutheran Campus Ministries in Omaha, Neb. He also taught part-time at Creighton University and at the University of Nebraska at Omaha and had been a parish pastor at churches in Iowa.

Over the years he has authored a number of books including Can These Bones Live: Contemporary Dramas for Lent & Easter and Worshiping Through Drama: Chancel Dramas, Dramatic Readings, and Sketches for Worship. He now serves as a trained intentional interim pastor, assisting congregations through periods of crisis.
