The blessing of the palms will begin Sunday morning, April 17, 2011 at 10 a.m. outside Mueller Hall and proceed to the chapel.

Did you know that a portion of our palm supplier’s sales are donated to four non-profit organizations benefiting environmental and humanitarian efforts in the U.S.? Also, each year they provide several hundred jobs to people in one of the lowest economic regions of the US.

In 2004, our palm supplier donated 322 acres of virgin native brush as wildlife habitat to the Texas Land Conservancy.

Palms that are left over at the chapel are dried and burned; the ashes then are used for our Ash Wednesday services.
