Welcome home for Homecoming!
If you’re on campus for Homecoming, welcome home! Please be sure to stop in at the chapel during your time here.

Friday is Founders Day. Friday Morning Prayer, which begins at 11: 15 a.m., will feature the Friday Morning Praise Band. President Mark Heckler will lead the Litany of Reconciliation and Prof. Gretchen Buggeln will speak.

Also on the schedule for Friday is the Homecoming Festival of Hymns starting at 7:30 p.m. Take part in the Homecoming tradition that dates back more than 30 years. Learn some new hymns and enjoy plenty of old favorites, as you sing along to the sounds of the Reddel organ.

Rev. Karl Lutze, associate professor of theology emeritus, will again serve as one of its narrators, along with VU alumnae Rev. Phyllis Kersten, interim university pastor, and Debra Albers, associate director of church relations. Dr. Philip Gehring, university organist emeritus, will be at the keyboard.

Then be sure to join us Sunday morning at 10 a.m. for Sunday morning worship with Holy Communion. University Pastor Rev. James A. Wetzstein will preach. Special music will be provided by the Chorale, Kantorei, alumni, and handbell choirs and other musicians.
