OUTDOOR WORSHIP & MAHLER'S "RESURRECTION" MAY 2ND

A year's worth of celebration of the Chapel’s 50th anniversary will conclude Sunday, May 2nd, with a special outdoor worship event at 10 a.m. and performance of Mahler's "Resurrection" Symphony in the afternoon.

With special music by the chapel praise band and the VU Gospel Choir, the worship service will be similar to the Chapel's Celebrate! service of contemporary music and the Eucharist. Rev. Karl Lutze, associate professor emeritus of theology, will be offering a reflection on these 50 years of the ministry of the Chapel and sharing some wisdom about the future.

Immediately following worship, there will be recognition of seniors who have been part of the Chapel staff and a picnic for the worshiping community.

Then at 3 p.m., a combined chorus and orchestra of more than 200 student, faculty, alumni and guest musicians will perform Gustav Mahler’s “Resurrection” Symphony at the Chapel. Tickets are $25 for the community but available at no charge for students, staff and faculty.
