For VU students: Tuition, the general fee, and the housing fee for the Hangzhou Program are exactly the same as those on the VU campus for the 2005-6 academic year. Students also pay a study center fee of $900 that is used for group trips, and are responsible for their own airfare, health insurance, meals, and incidental expenses. Past program participants estimate $1200-1500 to be sufficient to cover meals, personal travel, souvenirs, and other miscellaneous expenses.
Since this is a Valparaiso University program, all financial aid granted at VU is applicable, except for work-study and other “on-campus” aid. Students are advised to consult with their financial aid officer when considering the program, to see if the increased costs of study abroad (including airfare and the study center fee) change their eligibility for aid.
For students at Lutheran Colleges’ China Consortium member universities: Please see the study-abroad advisor on your campus for details regarding finances and application to the program.
For students-at-large: Please contact the VU International Studies Office for details and an application.
