![]() | Kevin Geiman, Ph.D.Associate Professor of Philosophy; Chair, Peace and Social Justice Studies; Affiliate Member, Chinese and Japanese Studies.Huegli Hall 120 BiographyProfessor Geiman joined the VU faculty in 1989 after studies in Cincinnati, Paris, St. Louis, Frankfurt am Main and Bochum. He has published translations from and studies on 20th century French and 18th century German sources, and he teaches courses in environmental philosophy, Asian philosophy, and peace and social justice. His current research is on Buddhist ethics with a focus on the pāramitās. Professor Geiman has been training in Zen Buddhism since 1996. He will be ordained a Buddhist priest in Spring 2010.
